who knew?

I had NO idea I could love anything so much! Emmy is the most beautiful, precious, angelic little being and I love every minute I get to spend with her. I've always loved holding her and spending time with her but she just gets more and more fun as the days go by. I love her little personality that's developing. I love all the little milestones. She does so many cute little things already and her baby book is filling up fast. She's just found her feet and I love watching her lay on her back and hold her little toes! She's beginning to learn how to get attention too - if I lay her on a blanket to make my bed or do a quick chore, she'll shout this cute little shout and I'll go see what she needs and she just grins at me. She's so interested in the world and her surrounding these days. Our walks don't just put her to sleep anymore (well, sometimes) but she looks around and coo's and takes everything in. I love it!

I LOVE MY LITTLE JELLY BEAN!

We're still around. Just enjoying our busy summer and spending time with this little darling (now 3 months old!). I'll squeeze in some time for "catch-up blogging" soon! :)

Happy AUGUST!

2 months

EMMY IS 2 MONTHS OLD!!

*Emmy can just about roll over - can't believe it! She just gets hung up on one arm. It'll be any time now.
*She can wiggle her way out of her swaddle at night. The other morning I went in to get her and she was sleeping with her head and toes width wise in her crib instead of length wise!
*Emmy sure knows how to jibber-jabber. She just talks and talks...
*She can hold her head up pretty good when on her tummy.
*Emmy's smiles are so big and come so easily! I love her darling smile!
*She sleeps about 5 hours each night and only wakes up once for about 45 minutes and then goes back to sleep for a few more hours!
*Emmy has grown out of newborn onesies! They fit her on top but she's just too darn long!

Emmy's had a lot of firsts in her 2 months. First road trip, first campfire, first wedding (she looked darling! i'll post pics when i get them), first graduation, first fireworks, first sleepover at grams, first picnic....all sorts of exciting things in such a short amount of time!

HAPPY 2 MONTHS EMMY!

busy bees

I've come to grips with the fact that I'm not the greatest blogger, especially the last month. For some reason I thought after I had Emmy I'd have all sorts of time to blog and loads of things to blog about. Well, only the latter of the two is true. Where oh where does the time go? Let see...my sister Holly graduated from high school (WAY TO GO HOLLY), my other sister Heather got married (CONGRATS), Emmy and I have been picnicing, church callings have kept us busy, we celebrated the 4th of July...to name a few.

It's crazy to me that my youngest sibling will be in college this year! WOW!

I'm so happy for Heather and Derrick, still can't believe she's married!

I love big occasions like weddings because I get to see family I haven't seen in awhile, like my darling cousin Erin! Sure love this girl!

Emmy experienced her first parade and fireworks! I think she really liked both! Actually, she slept through the fireworks. Oh well.

Emmy's blessing day was a very special day. She looked beautiful and it was a beautiful day. Brian's blessing was perfect and so heart felt. We are so blessed to have her in our lives.

Our good friend Annie is our ward's YW camp director and needed help setting up camp so we made a night of it. We made tinfoil dinners and took up stuff for s'mores to munch on after setting up tents...and lots of cots! Mike and Annie are such fun people to be around!

Emmy loved laying on the cots!

Emmy's smiles just keep coming!

My little girl is growing up...she looks so big in her carseat!

Needless to say, it's been a busy few months and I'm loving every minute. Since I've been on leave from work I've been able to spend a lot of time with family and friends and make so many fun memories with Emmy.

More Emmy...

I can't believe Emmy is one month old! Time sure does fly! This last month has been full of laughs, cries, good times, hard times... Our world has been completely turned upside-down and backwards! Brian, me, the dog and Emmy are all still figuring out each others schedules. It's been trying and rewarding. Here are some fun pictures of Emmy over her first month.

The Best Mother's Day Present Ever

This picture was taken the night before I went into the hospital to be induced. It was so weird going to bed that night, knowing that the next day we would be parents. Neither of us got much sleep that night.

Our little cutie pie was born May 8 at 8:40pm.
She weighed 7lb. 6oz. and was 19 1/2" long.
We named her Emmy Alice.
We are so blessed to have such a sweet spirit in our home. Where we are lacking in sleep, we are overflowing with the joy of her arrival.

This little babe has quite the lungs!

Our family of 3. We can't figure out who she looks like yet.

Here we are headed for home, on Mother's Day. I couldn't have asked for a better Mother's Day present.

I know they say that when babies smile it's usually gas. I don't believe that for a second. Emmy doesn't just smile in her sleep, she smiles when you talk to her and kiss her cheeks and nose. Her smile gets so big sometimes you can see a little dimple on her left cheek. I think she'd laugh if she could too!

Daisy loves her little sister. She likes to be close by all the time. She follows us when we change Emmy's diaper, sits by me when I feed her and she even cries when Emmy cries...that isn't so cute sometimes. Daisy is Emmy's little protector.

Our first walk. I like to take her out when she's already alseep so I don't get too far from home when she starts crying. I'm still trying to figure out what all her cries mean and how to make her happy.

Yup, she already has a binkie. They gave it to her in the hospital, which I thought was kind of weird. Oh well, it's something that calms her and I can take it away when she gets older. I think she looks cute sucking on it anyway!

WE ARE SO HAPPY TO HAVE EMMY IN OUR HOME! I may be biased, but I think she's the most beautiful baby ever!
