one of "those" days

Showering is no problem for me.  It's putting some make up on, drying my hair and actually getting dressed for the day that I rarely find time for.  So, I feel frumpy all day.  I usually try to put some mascara and lip gloss on before Brian comes home and sometimes I even change out of my "lounge clothes" just so he doesn't think I'm lazy.  Taking care of two kids under two really slices into the "me time."  No complaints...it's just challenging sometimes.

Today I decided to leave all the little "Emmy messes" alone till this evening.  She's changed her pants 3 times now and clothes are all over her room, she's dragged practically all her books down the hall and they are acting like stepping stones for me, all her dolls are strewn about the front room and blankets cover the floors.  I just don't have the energy to pick everything up - over and over and over.

Bailey has been really fussy today and has required more holding time than usual.  I LOVE holding her, but while doing so I created a few messes of my own...spaghettio's on the kitchen floor, milk on the counter and Emmy's snacks spilled all over the tile (rolling every which way).

Needless to say, my house is a mess today and I feel like I am too.  I finally put Bailey in her crib, where I know she is safe, and let her cry for a bit while I rocked Emmy and put her down for a nap.  NOW, I can't believe it, both are asleep at the same time!  Who knows how long it will last.  I should be napping or cleaning, doing my hair or even paying some attention to my dogs, but instead, today I felt like doing a little "venting" to all of you before I loose myself in the world wide web...I'll be searching for birthday ideas for Emmy, ways to decorate my dream house, crafts I want to make but who knows when I'll get time, maybe I'll plan a dream vacation, find some dinner ideas...all while I listen to some Michael Buble on Pandora and wonder if there are any other mother's who get as overwhelmed as I do (but hide it really well).

call me an addict

crave:  to have strong desire for

addiction:  to apply habitually

my little cravings have turned into addictions.  these two sweet treats are my enemy and best friend at the same time!

i will never lose this darn baby weight with these guys around!
my grocery list seems to always contain one of the following:

peanut butter
corn flakes
karo syrup
graham crackers
marshmellows

i'm hoping that with more fruits in season i can shift my cravings...and with nice weather, maybe i won't have as much time to be inside dancing around the microwave!

pictures and stuff

I was looking through my photo albums the other day.  BOY, I took A LOT of pictures of Emmy when she was little (and still do).  I kind of feel bad Bailey isn't going to have as many pictures.  I keep my camera handy but sometimes it's just too hard to pick it up because I either don't have a third hand or because I just get so busy trying to make it through the day I forget about it.  So, to start this post...this is for you Bailey...

Funny that most of the pictures are of her asleep, because she seems to have forgotten how to sleep the last few weeks!

Now, what have we been up to lately?  Well, my little Em keeps me busy that's for sure!  When Bailey does decide to sleep or is content to sit in her bouncer for a little while, Emmy and I especially like to make treats!  I think I weigh more now than I did 2 weeks after Bailey's birth!  I have more cravings now than I did when I was pregnant too!  Weird.

We also love to play with playdough, Emmy calls it "nee."  I'm not sure how she came up with that name...

We love the Disney channel!  Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is one of our favorites shows!  I don't want my child to sit in front of the tv all day, but it's nice that she's taken an interest so she can be entertained if I'm unavailable and with Bailey! (gotta love the hat)

Unfortunatley Emmy has been doing a little more of this lately.  Such a sad face.  I think we both feel this way sometimes...if spring would just get here and we could play outside...

The other day a package was delivered to our door - I wanted to kiss the UPS man I was so excited!  He brought me freedom!  This fabulous stroller came at just the right time!  Emmy, Bailey and I were all low on our vitamin D and this was just the remedy.  It's the "minivan" of strollers I think.  I opted for this one over a double jogger because A)I don't jog and B)this one holds my carseat from the jogger/stroller I have now.  AND>>>>>>this is a "Sit and Stand" too so we'll be able to use this for years to come!

Emmy was so excited she wouldn't get out to get dressed for the day.  She probably would have had breakfast sitting in the stroller if I had let her.  We went for 3 walks this day.  It felt great to be out with both my girls.  I just wish the nice weather would have stuck around longer!
So, until mother nature cooperates with us, we've got this beauty parked in the garage just waiting to be used again!!  (and I have some fabulous new shoes I am dying to walk around the neighborhood in)
