7 months

Seven months!  Has Bailey really been in our family for that long?  I can't believe it!  It seems like time is flying but also seems like she has just always been with us! 

Bailey is sitting up, jibber-jabbing, laughing, rolling, eating fabulous and sleeping awesome!  She is so darn happy and her smile is contagious!  

She is so interested in everything around her and loves to grab at EVERYTHING!  I think my favorite part of this age is that she's started putting her arms up when you go to pick her up.  I love it when she reaches for me!  

A few things Bailey doesn't like at 7 months old are baths and being left alone in a room, she just like to be where the action is!

I just love this little wiggle worm of ours and enjoy watching her grow and learn.  I am such a lucky mom to have two happy and healthy girls!

We had a fun and busy weekend! 

Brian and I enjoyed an evening out without the kids and went to some of the homes on the Parade of Homes this year.  It was really exciting to go when we are actually looking for ideas.  Such beautiful homes!  This week we will hopefully have finalized plans so we can start having the house bid.  There's still a long road ahead of us and if we continue on the same path, there's bound to be more up's and down's and curves along the way.  It should be quite an adventure.

Saturday I went to a few home on the Historic Parade of Homes with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law.  It was a different experience than the brand new ones I had just seen before.  It takes a very patient and creative person (with some money too) to live in and restore an old home.  We were able to go in one of the huge historic homes I've just dreamt about going in for years now...I hate to say it, but I was a tad disapointed.  What I imagine it would be like inside as I'd drive by was much more grand.  Oh well, still beautiful.

Saturday night Brian and I got to spend some quality time with Emmy and some of our friends from our old neighborhood.  It was the first home game and we were invited to do a little tailgating.  It was a lot of fun.  Great food, great fun and most of all great people.  It's nice to know that even though we don't live as close to our friends, we can still be close friends!

Emmy had a great time at the game!  She was cheering and dancing and eating snacks with the rest of us.  We stayed for about all of the game and hope to be able to go to a few more.

We didn't move too far, but there sure is a difference in those few miles. 

Something I miss and don't miss at the same time is our little neighborhood where we were all packed in tight and the next house was just a few steps away.  Here, the next house is a bit further...the plus side to this is SPACE.  WE HAVE SPACE!  The dogs love being able to run around and Emmy loves all the space too.  Granted, we are living with Brian's parents and enjoying all THEIR SPACE right now, but soon we will have our own BIG YARD and plenty of lawn to play on! 

It's a different feel here.  Everyone is so...relaxed.  It just seems like life is moving at a slower place, it's being enjoyed. People ride their ATV's on the streets and wave or pull over to chat, they ride horses along the side of the street, the post office closes for an hour for lunch (something I found out the hard way), I saw a guy driving his John Deere mower along the road the other day, there are lots of fields and open spaces, wide roads that aren't noisey and busy all the time, orchards, creeks to throw rocks in just a few steps away...and I saw a wagon outside a house the other day - it was full of corn and had a sign and a mason jar, "corn $3 dozen, help yourself."  You just put your money in and take the corn!  I really think we are going to like it here.  I miss being only a few minutes from "town" and all the shopping but it is so nice to away from the hussle and bussle.  I have to plan my outings a bit better, and they are less frequent, but that's ok.  I'm hoping that it'll help me be more organized and maybe even save me some money not being so close to shopping! 

We even helped make jam the other day...

It's been a change for all of us - the girls, us, Brian's parents for letting us stay with them - but we feel so blessed.  We are really enjoying our new "hometown" and can't wait to get further along in building our home.
