one of those days

Emmy was being a little stinker the other day.  You know, one of "those days."  She wouldn't sleep, wouldn't eat, wasn't happy to play with any of her toys.  So, to save my sanity and maybe get some food in that cute little belly of hers - I dressed Emmy down, packed lunch outside and grabbed some sidewalk chalk for us to play with.

She was happy, she got fed and mom was relieved!  Thank goodness for good weather that allows little outings like this!

daddy-o!

HAPPY Post-Father's Day!

We spent our time enjoying dad's day with our families!

Emmy is such a daddy's girl and just loves spending time with Brian, especially outside!

She couldn't get enough of the racing down the hill!

Just because it was dad's day doesn't mean we can't have pictures with grama right!

Happy Father's Day, Dad, Dad-in-law and Grandad!

You are are so special to our family and we love you so much!

just cruisin'

Emmy and I went on a little drive the other day.

I love driving through small towns because you find beautiful, fun and unique photo opportunities...

I have a thing for bridges.  There's just something about them.

Small town = unique mailboxes

I'll end on a pretty note.
Fields of flowers!

last night

Last night a group of ladies (and young women) in my ward went on a little hike.  The plan was to meet at 8:30pm do a little hiking and then star gaze.  Well, by 8:30 the sky was pretty dark and it was raining.  I wasn't real sure about the star gazing but I dressed in layers and raincoat and headed to the church to see if we were going to venture out anyway.  There wasn't the turnout there probably would have been had the weather cooperated a little more but there was about 10 of us.

When we left the church and rounded the corner the clouds cleared and this is what we walked toward as we headed down the canyon to the trailhead...

It was so beautiful!  We all called it a sign from Heaven, that we were still supposed to go on this little hike and spend time as sisters in the ward.

The trail we were on followed the east side of the mountains overlooking the valley.  We witnessed an amazing sunset and enjoyed the views.  I only wish I would have had my nice camera instead of my point and shoot.  I just couldn't quite capture the colors of sunset, but believe me it was beautiful.  I will be hiking this again!

What a fun evening out.  These ladies and young women were so fun to be with.  We talked as we hiked and got to know each other a little better.  I am so blessed to be part of such a wonderul ward!

I can't wait to this again!

another great day with the girls

My mom, two sisters, Emmy and I all headed to SLC yesterday.
WHY?
So these two...

Could meet this guy!

While they were in line for the book signing, Emmy, Heather and I did some strolling.

Before he headed into Deseret Book for his signing, David sang a few songs to his fans.  Heather and I just so happened to be standing in just the right place at just the right time and watched this young man walk right by us!

I've gotta give they guy credit...he has an AMAZING voice!  And I will admit I got a little caught up in the moment.  I was dancing and singing.  Yes, I am a fan.
(talked to my mom after posting this and she said, "that's not my hand is it?"  No mom, this is not your hand.  I just thought it was a unique way to capture the moment. Luv ya mom!)

Anyway, my mom is the biggest fan!  Look how happy she is!  Gosh I love her.

Emmy is even a fan.  She wanted to dance, not pose for a picture!

After David sang a few songs Heather, Emmy and I left Holly and mom while they waited to meet David and get their book signed.  On our way to SLC, Mom was reading some passages to me from his book.  I'll be reading it.  And if I borrow my mom's signed copy, I'll probably have to read it with white gloves on. :)

Emmy took a nice nap in the car as we (Heather, Emmy and I) drove around SLC and waited for mom and Holly.  We came across some really neat little shops and communities.  When I go to SLC I usually stay in the downtown area.  It was really neat driving through the avenues and all the ornate residential areas.  There are some beautiful streets in SLC!

After the book signing we had lunch at The Garden.  YUM!

Our last stop was The Gateway.  We shopped around and then ended up letting Emmy play in the water.  She was hesitant at first, but it didn't taker her long to catch on to what all the other kids were doing.

Lately Emmy has been running with her arms back like this.  It's pretty funny.  Not sure if she thinks it makes her run faster?

She got pretty wet!  And LOVED it.

What a SUPER fun day!  I can't even describe how blessed I am to have such wonderful sisters and such an amazing mom.  We have so much fun together!  I love our girl outings and I hope they continue forever and ever.

Thanks for such a great day girls!

back tracking

The last 3 days have been super busy, but super FUN!
I told you about my sweet cousin's wedding I went to on Saturday.  Well here are a few pic's.  I am SO happy for this cute couple! Isn't Erin a beautiful bride!

These two are loved by MANY!  We waited in line an hour to say our congrats!  Well worth it though.  And all the details of her reception were so classy!

Then, remember the cake my friend asked me to photograph?  Well, here it is.  Isn't it awesome!  She is amazing!

And last...a little sneak peak at my day today.  Anyone recognize this guy?  More to come...
