Fall is Here

I LOVE living where I do! We get to really experience all the seasons, fall being my favorite! Mountains line the valley and canyons of colors are just a short drive away. Tunnels of golden aspens line the roads and bursts of red, orange, and green fill the valleys. My camera could never do these sites justice.

Mom and my sisters and I (and Daisy) took a Sunday drive a weeks ago and tried to capture the fall beauty in a few snapshots. Aren't my sisters darling!

Daisy loved the drive and the leaves! She's one of the girls!

Road Trip

.

Mom and I took a little road trip and met up with my cousin Shelly and her little girl Shelby. We did some shopping and then we went to eat. We didn't go too far from home or do anything real adventurous, but I wanted a picture anyway. We don't get together with these girls nearly enough and I absolutely LOVE them and their family. I just wanted you to see my cute cousins (even though Shelby's sticking her tongue out) and know how grateful I am to know such wonderful women!

A Dog Lives Here

A DOG LIVES HERE
If you don't want to be greeted with paws and swinging tails don't come inside because a dog lives here.
If you don't like the feel of a cold nose or a wet tongue, don't come inside because a dog lives here.
If you don't want to step over many scattered toys, don't come inside because a dog lives here.
If you don't mind all of this, you will be instantly loved when you come inside, because a dog lives here.

I found this poem and it inspired me to post a few pictures of Daisy! It's crazy how dogs really become part of your family. I don't know what we'd do without our little "Dizzer!" She greets us when we come home from work, wakes us in the morning with a kiss, loves to go on car rides and visit family and friends with us, she's our little buddy when we watch the news, and she comforts us when we need comforting. We love our Daisy!

(Here she is looking out the window at my mom's house, watching the other dogs play and wishing she was outside with them)

TADA!!!

I couldn't find all the pictures of what things looked like before. Here are a few pictures from an older post. It's been awhile in the making, one step at a time. I promised I'd post when I had things decorated the way I wanted. Well, if I waited till I had everything perfect I would have never got to posting. Please excuse the empty walls and thrown together decor. I love the new look though! Enjoy...our journey of remodeling the dining and front room.

After some paint and tearing up the carpet...

NOW!!!! New carpet, new baseboards, & new doors on all the rooms!

My favorite part of the room is these red pillows I made! That's right, I bought the fabric and I sewed some pillow covers! Yipeee!!!!

Mission Accomplished

I promised pictures of our house. First, here's a look at our journey of remodeling the bathroom...

And this is what it looks like NOW! I feel like I live in a hotel! It's beautiful! The pictures don't do it justice!

Looks GREAT huh!!! Brian, thanks for all your hard work! I love our new bathroom!

A Weekend Getaway

.
A few weeks ago B and spent 2 nights and 3 days in California and Disneyland...all expenses paid by Wells Fargo! Each year they have a regional recognition event for employees who have met certain goals or have been recognized for their service. I was invited to go for my service and I was HONORED!

We stayed at the Grand California Hotel right at California Adventure!
It a beautiful hotel! We were given hopper passes to the parks and Disney dollars to spent in the park. We were treated like royalty while we were there! Delicious food, fun entertainment, beautiful accommodations...our room over looked the pool.

The ceremony breakfast was at the Disneyland Hotel in the Grand Ballroom. It was the most beautiful room! It was very elegant and the tables were all beautifully set...lots of silverware!

After breakfast was served there were a few speakers and some entertainment. Then, one by one we all walked across the stage to shake hands with some of the top executives of Wells Fargo and receive a thank you gift.

After all the "business" was over, we spent the rest of our time in the parks.

Splash Mountain was one our favorite rides! It wasn't real busy while we were there so we were able to ride all of our favorites SEVERAL times!

What better way to end our trip than with fireworks at "the happiest place on earth."

Memories

I forgot I took these pictures...

During our remodel we replaced all the doors upstairs. This is the coat closet door that my gram kept all our measurements on as my brother and sisters and I were growing up. As you can see there are all sorts of memories on this door! It was really sad to see it go, so I decided to take a few pictures. I think the first measurement of me was when I was 8!
The last measurement on the door for me was almost 9 years ago! Looks to me like I'm the same heightth if not shorter! Dang!

I'm really thankful to be living in my gram and gramps house and have so many wonderful memories around me everyday. As we remodeled we came across all sorts of my gram & gramps personal touches on the house....gramp's handwriting on some of the old studs, old turquise wall paper under the mirror in the bathroom that I'm sure my gram chose, and other fun things. I like to think they are watching what we are doing and are proud of all our hard work! I sure do miss them!

Banana

.
Before we got married, B sold his two horses and has been wanting a horse ever since. The deal on this colt was one we couldn't pass up so...we are the proud owners of Smokem Blackburn. When I asked B what he was going to call this horse (besides Smokem Blackburn, her registered name) he said, "Banana." So here is a picture of B and his horse, Banana! My crazy husband!

While B worked with the horse, I had fun experimenting with my camera and took pictures of the pasture and B's hunting dogs.
