Emmy and I had a little photo session the other day. Here are some of the pic's I got. I haven't edited any of them yet so try and look past my beginner photo skills. I had a blast taking these though! I love all of Emmy's differnt faces she pulls! I am so in love with this sweet baby girl!

More Emmy...
I can't believe Emmy is one month old! Time sure does fly! This last month has been full of laughs, cries, good times, hard times... Our world has been completely turned upside-down and backwards! Brian, me, the dog and Emmy are all still figuring out each others schedules. It's been trying and rewarding. Here are some fun pictures of Emmy over her first month.

The Best Mother's Day Present Ever
This picture was taken the night before I went into the hospital to be induced. It was so weird going to bed that night, knowing that the next day we would be parents. Neither of us got much sleep that night.

Our little cutie pie was born May 8 at 8:40pm.
She weighed 7lb. 6oz. and was 19 1/2" long.
We named her Emmy Alice.
We are so blessed to have such a sweet spirit in our home. Where we are lacking in sleep, we are overflowing with the joy of her arrival.

This little babe has quite the lungs!

Our family of 3. We can't figure out who she looks like yet.

Here we are headed for home, on Mother's Day. I couldn't have asked for a better Mother's Day present.

I know they say that when babies smile it's usually gas. I don't believe that for a second. Emmy doesn't just smile in her sleep, she smiles when you talk to her and kiss her cheeks and nose. Her smile gets so big sometimes you can see a little dimple on her left cheek. I think she'd laugh if she could too!

Daisy loves her little sister. She likes to be close by all the time. She follows us when we change Emmy's diaper, sits by me when I feed her and she even cries when Emmy cries...that isn't so cute sometimes. Daisy is Emmy's little protector.

Our first walk. I like to take her out when she's already alseep so I don't get too far from home when she starts crying. I'm still trying to figure out what all her cries mean and how to make her happy.

Yup, she already has a binkie. They gave it to her in the hospital, which I thought was kind of weird. Oh well, it's something that calms her and I can take it away when she gets older. I think she looks cute sucking on it anyway!
WE ARE SO HAPPY TO HAVE EMMY IN OUR HOME! I may be biased, but I think she's the most beautiful baby ever!

you asked...
Well, it's Monday and I'm still around. Granted it's only noon - still plenty of time to have a baby today right? Or at least START having a baby? No big deal though. I really feel like I'll be around another week. As anxious as I am to meet this little angel, Brian and I are enjoying our "us" time.

I don't have a picure on hand of me in my "current state" of 40 weeks, but here is one at 39 (I feel so silly posing for these picures, even more silly posting them).

the countdown continues...
Just a short little update for you- Monday is the my "DUE DATE." After my appointment yesterday, I think this little girl is going to take me over that date. No big deal though. When she comes, she comes. I still feel great so I'm fine with toting her around for a while longer. I guess the later she is, the more time that gives Brian and I to think of a name. Yes, we still do not have a name. I am open to suggestions! I have made a little promise to myself that we will not leave the hospital without a name though. Wish us luck this weekend! We'll see if the stork pays us a visit!

Dear Blog
I have neglected you.
I am sorry.
You are a dear friend and I hope you will forgive my absence.
The days have been flying by.
I will be back soon.
I promise.
About 19 days till our baby girl arrives.
I just have a few more things to do to prepare.
I can't wait for you to meet her.
We'll catch up shortly.

Rock-a-bye-Baby
.

This weekend my mom and I worked our little hearts out and made bumpers for "baby girl's" cradle. I would really like to say they were "made with love" but there were a few times (after unpicking several times) I wasn't real excited about the idea of making them. They turned out pretty darn cute though and there really was more love than anything that went into them. I don't know if I told you the story about the cradle but my sweet grama Bernice bought the cradle over 26 years ago and it was used by the kids in my family when they were babes. So, it's been in the family awhile. It's pretty special to me that I'm able to use it now for my little angel and use it the home of the "angel" who bought it too! I've thought a lot about my gram as I've been preparing for our babe to arrive. I wish she were here to help me pick out gowns and bedding and all those fun things. Anyway, I know she LOVED aqua so I think she'd be proud of these bumpers!

P.S. Here's the latest...30 weeks. I have my 32 week appointment this Wednesday though, I"m a little behind on getting the pic's up.
